The client specialised in rare diseases. Their product was a monthly infusion for adult patients with primary immunodeficiency. With the product, patients can infuse their treatment using one needle in one infusion site, just one time a month, and can self-administer in the comfort of their own homes.

Understanding the problem

An interactive platform was required to help sales reps when selling the product to physicians. This e-detail aid needed to bring the data to life while utilising the new campaign, which was based on a social media concept. Patients on the product have the freedom to live their lives to the fullest, so the concept shows patients making the most of this freedom through their social media profiles.

Crafting the experience

The whole experience needed to tie-in with the social media concept, with a personal and patient-focused feeling. We therefore developed a selection of characters to represent different patient types. A profile was developed for each character that had a social media look and feel but was connected with the disease and how the product could help them. Pictures, animated graphs and videos helped bring these case studies to life.

Interactive components were required. This included a dosing calculator that reps could easily use during sales calls to show physicians the straightforward dosing for their product versus competitors, as well as providing tailored dosing schedules.

A key goal was to transform dry data into more visual, modern and engaging content. We achieved this using infographics, transitions and animations, such as animated  messenger-style chats.

Deliverables

Following creation of the wireframes in Axure, the next step was the development of a full interactive UX prototype. This was built in InVision and presented to the client for review.

Taking the client feedback on board, we then focused on developing the UI and introducing the animated components. All the animations and transitions were created in AfterEffects as a reference for the developers.

Full UI and content review was performed in InVision. The handover of the UI kit, SVGs and styles to the developers was via the Zeplin platform.

We look forward to your stay.
