HCP educational website
Primary biliary cholangitis (PBC) is a progressive liver disease that can lead to liver failure if untreated. The client marketed a treatment for PBC. We were tasked to develop a digital platform as a resource hub for healthcare professionals.
Role - Research, Branding, UX, UI
Year - 2019
Understanding the problem
The client wanted to create a hub to house all their resources for healthcare professionals. This included videos of their conference series and educational articles.
The main goal was to provide a platform for physicians to share knowledge and learn about the disease. Despite already having an extensive library of content, the client couldn’t use existing platforms to share it due to legal limitations so required us to develop a bespoke option.
Following brainstorming sessions with the stakeholders to understand their needs and discuss the complexity and requirements of the platform now and in the future, initial sketches were created, refined and approved. Based on these, the information architecture was defined.
Low fidelity clickable wireframes were created and a functional prototype was developed for testing and demonstration.

Crafting the experience
We were tasked with developing the branding and style. This needed to be aligned with but distinct to the main client branding to differentiate their educational service from their promotional materials.
A key consideration was that the content needed to be mobile friendly to enable physicians to use it anywhere. The hub also needed to be easy to navigate and easy to administrate so that it can be updated as new content becomes available. The challenge was to use all of the video assets the client already had in-house and create a modern, user-friendly platform to integrate them.
Throughout the project we liaised closely as a team and with the clients, providing them with updates at all stages. We followed our internal best-practice processes to optimise the efficiency of the project delivery. Accessibility was key, so we considered all user personas to optimise and simplify the user journey for all.
Low fidelity wireframes were created and a functional prototype was developed for testing and demonstration. We ensured a consistent experience by creating a robust design system built on reusable components. Following client feedback, we developed high fidelity UI designs taking their comments on board.
